Consumer complaints in Kuwait are handled by the National Consumer Protection Committee, a permanent body established under Article 2 of Law No. 39 of 2014 and operating under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Under Article 6, the Committee is specifically empowered to receive and investigate complaints from consumers and consumer protection associations.
To file a complaint, you can visit the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in person or use their official online channels. Make sure you bring supporting documentation: your invoice or receipt (suppliers are required by Article 15 to issue written invoices in Arabic), photos or evidence of the problem, and records of any communication with the seller.
If the Committee issues a decision you disagree with, Article 4 confirms that such decisions are final at the administrative level but can be challenged directly before the competent administrative court, and cases must be resolved promptly. Consumer protection associations registered under Article 8 can also assist you in filing and pursuing complaints on your behalf.
