A pregnant working woman is entitled to 70 days of paid maternity leave that is not deducted from her other leave, provided she gives birth within it (art. 24). After maternity leave ends, the employer may, at her request, grant her unpaid leave of up to four months for childcare (art. 24).
The employer may not end the worker's service while she is on that leave, or while she is absent due to an illness medically certified to result from pregnancy or childbirth (art. 24).
She must also be given two hours for breastfeeding during work under conditions set by the Ministry, and the employer must establish nurseries for children under 4 at workplaces with more than 50 female workers or more than 200 workers total (art. 25). A working woman is entitled to pay equal to a man's for the same work (art. 26).
